Summer Camp at St. Thomas School in Cite Soleil

St. Thomas School in Cite Soleil started their summer camp this past week, providing meals with food items collected by community members. They originally solicited $400 for materials, transportation for teachers, and meals, but have not been able to fundraise beyond the food collection.

This school serves a neighborhood in Cite Soleil, an impoverished community in Port-au-Prince. In June, 50 community members were reported dying in one weekend due to gang violence. The teachers of this school and others in the area literally risk their lives to serve these children.

If you can chip in, $10 covers one child for the two weeks. 40 students are attending in total.
